Off the Hanger is a hands-on streetwear curriculum designed to empower students through fashion, creativity, and entrepreneurship. From concept to creation, students learn how to design, print, and market their own apparel — gaining real-world skills in branding, graphic design, and production. Whether they’re pressing their first tee or building a full collection, Off the Hanger gives young creatives the tools to turn their ideas into wearable art — straight off the hanger and into the world.
Students explore identity and self-expression through design, beginning with hand-drawn concepts and progressing into digital creation using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. They learn the fundamentals of streetwear branding—typography, color theory, logo development, and mockups—before bringing their designs to life using DTF transfers and heat pressing.
Along the way, students gain insight into sourcing blanks, wholesaling, and various garment production methods including screen printing, embroidery, and more. The program provides a well-rounded foundation in both the creative and technical sides of fashion, equipping students with the tools to build their own brand from the ground up.
